What is Andar Bahar?

Andar Bahar, also known as ‘Katti’, is a traditional Indian card game, of which the outcome relies heavily on luck and educated guessing. There are two sides on the table – Andar (or left) and Bahar (or right). Few cards are also placed on the table for the player to choose from, and the idea of the game is to guess on which side the selected card would appear. A player can also bet against the dealer’s card.

Through this guide, you will know everything you need to play Andar Bahar on JeetWin!

Basic Rules

In Andar Bahar, a single deck of cards is used, and the odds in this game are 50 – 50. The player has the option of either choosing ‘Andar’ (left), or ‘Bahar’ (right) spot on the table. Once the betting spot is chosen, 13 cards are dealt on the table, from which the player has to choose one card. The player then has to correctly choose the spot where the selected card would appear. A minimum bet is then required for the game to begin.

Game Terms

Andar – Andar refers to the left spot on the table.

Bahar – Bahar refers to the right spot on the table.

Placing bets in Andar Bahar

Once the dealer says, “Place your bets, please”, the players are given a few seconds to choose their desired card from the pack. Cards are then placed alternatively on Andar and Bahar (or left and right spots), and if the number on the dealt card matches the selected card number, the game ends.

When the cards are dealt, if the first card is drawn from a black suit, and is either a Clover or a Spade, then the card dealing starts from ‘Andar’ (or left) spot. If the first card is drawn from a red suit, and is either a Heart or a Diamond, the card dealing starts from ‘Bahar’ (or right) spot.

Additionally, a player can also bet against the dealer card. The betting choice appears in alternate games on JeetWin.

All the results are based on the numbers on the cards, and not on the suits. If there are multiple players playing the game, the game will continue until all the players have either won or lost.

The betting amount can be increased during the game, by clicking on the chip of higher value, and then clicking on the chosen card.
