The Irish Poker Open, Ireland’s largest and most storied poker festival, is back for 2025, celebrating its 45th anniversary with a record-breaking schedule and prize pool. With four extra days added, this year’s festival promises to be the biggest yet, with high-stakes events, record guarantees, and a blend of new and returning tournament favorites, making it a can’t-miss occasion for poker fans across the globe.
Running from April 10th to April 21st at Dublin’s Royal Dublin Society, the 2025 Irish Poker Open is expected to draw huge crowds, bolstered by the €2.5 million Main Event guarantee and a full roster of unique events, including a €1 million Mystery Bounty.
Returning for a third year, the festival is sponsored by PokerStars and Paddy Power, with Luxon Pay also on board to sponsor the Mystery Bounty and provide payment solutions. Online qualifiers begin on November 1st, giving hundreds of players a shot at joining the action.
New Additions and Expanded Schedule
In response to the overwhelming popularity of last year’s events, the Irish Open organizers have added four extra days, bringing the festival total to twelve days of nonstop poker action. The festival will open with a brand-new €1,000,000 guaranteed Mystery Bounty event featuring four starting flights, setting a high bar for the days to come.
This year introduces a High Roller Series, including four €5,000 buy-in events and a €10,000 buy-in event. High-stakes action is woven throughout the festival, promising an experience for players of all levels. Mixed game fans have their own treats with new tournament types like Pot Limit 2-7 Triple Draw, Big O, Open Face Chinese, and a two-day Mixed 8-Game Championship.
Main Event and Mini Irish Open Highlights
At the heart of the Irish Poker Open is its Main Event, now boasting a €2.5 million guarantee, the largest in the festival’s history. After drawing a record 3,233 entries in 2024, expectations are high that this year’s Main Event will break even more records.
For those seeking high rewards at lower stakes, the €1,000,000 guaranteed Mini Irish Open also returns. With a €250 buy-in, this event gives players an affordable entry point into the festival’s excitement, likely to match or exceed its record-breaking 5,320 entries from last year.
Special Tournaments and New Variants
Keeping things fresh, the Irish Open will welcome the inaugural Irish Open Deaf Championship, a dedicated event celebrating inclusivity in poker. Alongside this are returning crowd favorites that will now feature an added day due to high demand. The Hendon Mob Championship, America’s Cup, and NLH 6-Max Championship have all been expanded to two-day events for 2025, allowing more time for intense competition.
Mixed game enthusiasts are in for a treat as well, with a variety of new game formats including Pot Limit 2-7 Triple Draw, Big O, Open Face Chinese, a two-day H.O.R.S.E. tournament, and a two-day Mixed 8-game event. These additions broaden the festival’s appeal and variety, catering to poker fans with diverse tastes.

Qualify Online with PokerStars and Paddy Power
For the third consecutive year, PokerStars and Paddy Power are offering online satellites to the Main Event, allowing hundreds of players to secure their seats ahead of the live festival. Qualifiers begin on Paddy Power on November 1, 2024, with PokerStars soon to follow.
