Jebel Ali Racecourse (JARC) has entered into a multi-year agreement with Total Performance Data (TPD) to enhance race monitoring and tracking capabilities at its premier racetrack in Dubai. This collaboration expands TPD’s presence in the UAE to three racetracks and solidifies its role across six venues in the rapidly growing Middle Eastern horseracing market.
Beginning this month, TPD will provide live and post-race timing and performance statistics for every horse at Jebel Ali. Additionally, live running order graphics will be displayed on trackside screens to enhance the spectator experience for visitors.
The current racing season at JARC is in full swing, with high-profile events such as the Jebel Ali Mile, Jebel Ali Sprint, Jebel Ali Stakes, and Jebel Ali Distaff among the highlights. Notably, the Jebel Ali Distaff will feature as part of the third leg of the Emirates Sprint Series during a special Ramadan Feast raceday in March.
This partnership underscores Jebel Ali’s commitment to delivering a cutting-edge experience for both participants and spectators, leveraging TPD’s expertise to provide real-time data and enrich the overall appeal of its racing events.
Will Duff Gordon, CEO of TPD, said: “We’re delighted to extend our UAE footprint by proudly welcoming Jebel Ali to our growing international client base. This is another major step in our Middle East expansion, and we would like to thank the team at JARC for choosing us to serve their unique and ambitious racetrack”.
Mohamed Ahmed, General Manager for JARC, said: “We are excited to announce the introduction of a horse tracking system at Jebel Ali Racecourse, a significant step in our digital transformation and development journey.
“This tracking system will enhance the experience for horsemen and racegoers at the Jebel Ali Racecourse as we collaborate with Total Performance Data. I first encountered this tracking system back in 2018 at a racecourse in United Kingdom and was immediately fascinated by its potential. I recognized then that this technology would become increasingly popular in the horse racing world, and it’s incredibly rewarding to see it come to fruition here at Jebel Ali Racecourse. We are immensely proud to be implementing this technology.”
