Manchester United surprised many football fans when they held last season’s Champions League winners Bayern Munich to a 1-1 draw on Tuesday night, however GR88.com bookmakers think the German club will be too strong for their English opposition in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals.
Bayern are without key players Javi Martinez and Bastian Schweinsteiger, both of whom are suspended, but GR88 still makes them favourites at 1.11 to make it through over the two legs. United are 7.00 to make it through to the semi-finals, and 11.00 to inflict a home defeat on Bayern for only the second time since Pep Guardiola took over as manager.
The other English side left in the competition, Chelsea, face an uphill task after a stoppage time goal from Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Javier Pastore handing the French club a 3-1 lead going into the return game. Chelsea are 3.20 to progress, while PSG are available at 1.34 to secure an aggregate victory.
If there is another late goal at Stamford Bridge, or indeed in any of the four Champions League matches on Tuesday and Wednesday, then GR88.com will refund selected losing pre-match bets as part of their Late Goal Refund promotion. Full details can be found here.
Bayern Munich are still favourites to win the whole competition at 2.56, though Real Madrid (3.15) and Barcelona (5.60) are also well-fancied. The rank outsiders are last year’s runners-up Borussia Dortmund, who have a three-goal deficit to overturn against Real Madrid and are 200.00 to win the whole tournament.
